The long relationship between Nic (Annette Bening) and Jules (Julianne Moore) has enabled the two women to experience all the ups and downs of a relationship so lasting. The stressful work of Nic has made little attention to the needs of its partners. Its role as a mother, does not allow Jules to be realized fully. Would set up a small business of horticulture but Nic does not seem to be of great help in the undertaking. Joni's daughter is a student model but the constant supervision of parents nervous.
